I sit on the curb of a "mutant friendly" part of town head down across from me is scrawled along the all " Friend of Humanity, Protect". I hear there would be a gathering of rebels, no mutant freedom fighters ready to fight back against the so called friends of humanity. Staring the propaganda of those who hate us in the face i waited to be joined by unknown comrades ready to fright for a free world.

I had came here under Magneto's orders, the humans hated no matter how much they sugar coated their words. There would never be mutant rights or freedom, it was all a lie. The only way we could get our freedom was fighting for it, just like history goes to show. In the middle of the road sat a protester, a preacher lets say of the plague we mutants were on the world. Somehow I couldn't help myself. "Wait what are you doing freak?" he said. Already my hand was wrapping around his face, robotic tendrils ripping their way down his eye sockets. I felt the soft squish of his poor in-superior brain. "Thousands of years of evolution and you waste it..." Needless to say the on watchers were appalled. I rallied my rebels together, "Show them what it means to be brothers in the same."

Just i start to think i was the only one who showed up i hear screams and then gun shots. Jumping up i run around the corner to find an eyeless corps on the pavement, and hordes of Friends of Humanity members as well as random people on the street even "mutant supporters" gathered around a tall man with a mech arm ready to kill but to afraid to make the first move. I call out for him to run. Looks like the party started with out me. Two is not much of an army but it better than nothing. I wave for the man to run to me then wait and ready my self to fight.

"Finally a man who isn't a coward." I couldn't believe that there was only one person out of the group who was ready to fight, somehow seeing his fire brought back old feelings I thought I had lost, 'Hope."
Running to the man I let the mechanical blade slide from my elbow. I saw a man with a gun aimed at this bold new stranger, my arm flew forward with such force it seemed I was preparing salad rather than decapitating. Luckily I had just finished attaching the cable. "Duck!" I called as I swung in a fluid motion nearly chopping off 3 more heads, one man just got nicked but all the same he was still dead.

In a cloud of gray smoke i appear to the back of my new found ally I turn drawing a long gun from my coat. leveling my arm I deliver two quick shots to the chest of a leather clad man then spin driving my heal in to the noes of another. The satisfying sound of cracking bone reverberates from beneath my boot. Reaching back i grab the shoulder of the man at my back, jumping I plant both feet in the chest of the nearest man sending him sprawling. The next instant me and the other mutant are standing on the fire escape that had moments ago been above us.

The sick feeling from seemingly teleporting was nuisance, but the fact he could teleport made up for that fact. I nodded my thanks and quickly changed my arm into a blast cannon. I thought to myself it was a little early for the prototype technique I had developed but none of the other mutants were helping. Two of the men were trying to climb up, but a cannon blast to the chest ended that. My new partner was doing great, I tried to fire another but the damn thing jammed. Next thing I know ones got a gun pointed at me. A moment later his corpse is nothing but bones. I look to myself to see another mutant with razor claws drawn, "I hope I don't sound disturbed but the red against those white bones is quite the inspiring art piece..

The red clawed mutant falls back in to the growing crowd of humans and mutants now filling the streets in a writhing mass of fighting body's. the man with the broken cannon to follow farther up the fire escape knowing i couldn't be heard above the shouting and gun shots all around. Another man below attempt's to climb up to us but is greeted with a boot to the face a short all then the sound of his skull cracking on the side walk below.

This was too easy, already the humans were easily seen as losing. After I had repaired my cannon I was able to fire off a few more loads. It seemed the bulk was dead and the rest were fleeing. "SHOW THAT ON THE MEDIA YOU COWARDS!"

On the roof now I turn and say " There just going to show that on the news to show how 'bad' mutants are but I'm glad your willing to fight. I'm HighwayMan." sliding the clip from my gun I replace the two bullets i had fired.

Carefully I extend my mechanical hand, "Call me breaker." The carnage was a nice sight, I looked to Highwayman, "Friend or foe?"

" I'd like to say neither, the fewer of both you have the longer you live. Ally yes, fellow mutant yes, but friend no." Police and ambulance sirens wail below as I holster my gun and sit down to catch my breath.

I turned away slightly dispapointed, but it was better this way. My last friendhsip hadn't ended to well. I let my sleeve cover my arm and threw the hood of my labcoat up. "Probably should reschedule the meeting, maybe next time some human won't be preaching in my spot." He took a cold glance towards the sirens. "We should probably get to a safe zone, I've got a base right outside of town."

"No running now is dangerous the streets are to full of cops cleaning up 'your' mess. We should be safe up here, lay low till dark and see if any other mutants show up late."

Grumbling I realized he was in the right. "Fine, this doesn't change my outlook though."

"Once it cools of in the streets we should head down to the ally. Where we were the meeting was supposed to be before SOME ONE started a fight. A lot of people this end of town were mutant supporters, well sympathizers at lest! We need humans that are willing to let us walk down the street and even hide us if were are fighting! Especially if we are fighting. We need some place to hold out a head quarters of some sort a mutant friendly humans are the only way we will get us that and I'm sure you just won the Friends of Humanity a few hundred new recruiters."I pace the roof periodically glancing down to the street and then at Breaker then to the sky back to pacing.
